Cullen’s Unique “Ministers on Demand” Offer Grabs Grandmother’s Attention

Houston, TX – February 11, 2013 –

Robert Nelson and his fiancée Maureen were alerted to this opportunity by his grandmother just four days ago when she learned of the offer. The young couple believed that there was little chance that a formal wedding ceremony could take place before he deploys on March 3rd to Pensacola, Florida for the U.S. Navy copilot program. In an effort to save time and expenses, the couple had recently secured their wedding license and simply planned on being married at the courthouse.

Then Robert’s grandmother, Carol Nelson, also of Baytown, learned of the “Ministers on Demand” feature at Cullen’s Restaurant on Valentine’s Day. “I read that Cullen’s was providing ministers and a wedding ceremony on Thursday evening to couples at no charge,” says Carol. “I knew that this would be a very special opportunity for our family to come together and witness a beautiful ceremony for Robert and Maureen that we otherwise would not have had.”

The bride and groom are overwhelmed with joy about their upcoming nuptials, which take place Thursday, February 14th at 8 p.m. “I’ve done a lot of interesting and exciting things in my life,” says Robert, “but having a real wedding is the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m excited to ship out on a happy note.”

According to Kevin Munz, owner of the award-winning Cullen’s American Grille, a ceremony like this could cost upwards of $10,000 at their facility, but he is happy to offer this courtesy at no charge to romantic couples of all ages. “There’s a reason we have been voted ‘Most Romantic Restaurant’ over and over again, “says Munz. “The mood and atmosphere in our restaurant, coupled with our sensational Valentine’s Day menu, naturally put our customers in the marrying mood. And this year, it’s easier than ever for them to do it.”

A special ceremony room, decorated by Rebekah Cunningham of Dream Bouquet (DreamBouquet.net) tailored to match the interior of Cullen’s, will be set up for this purpose. Seating for family, guests, and other large groups, with dinner and beverage service, will be available in Cullen’s Grand Ballroom adjacent to the ceremony room. This room will be available for viewing by the media on Wednesday.

Reservations for Valentine’s Day dinner at Cullen’s are required and patrons wishing to take advantage of the complimentary wedding services are encouraged to communicate their intent, if known, when placing their reservation. Reservations may be made online at www.CullensHouston.com or via telephone as (281) 991-2000.
